An L.A. Times article about Marjorie Dannenfelser, but even deeper is the authors' own connection to the issue of abortion and the question - "what is the object?"

https://www.latimes.com/world-nation/story/2022-06-24/the-woman-who-brought-down-roe-vs-wade-marjorie-dannenfelser.

The object of an abortion, is very singular and I believe it is made even more evident by the latest trend of a few people who support "abortion outside the womb", or in other words, killing of a living human being, even up to 28 days old!

It was sad enough, that our country slipped into the selfishness  and insanity of murder in the womb, but then to come out, even by the president of our United States, and try and sell the practice as some kind of humanitarian action to a mother and baby! Incredible!

My prayers continue after so many years, for our entire nation to : love the Lord God, Love your neighbor, and love yourself! And that these words would help that love to grow!

Selah

Thank you Jesus - Thank you my sisters for joining us in prayer to overturning Roe v. Wade!

So incredible to me, is this event! I have so much thanks to God, for His amazing grace and mercy, for answered prayer, June 24, 2022!

"Its a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God" and thankfully our nation has been given the chance to repent of the incredible evil of murdering the innocent!

For the whole time this blog has been I existence, the phrase below, has been our motto - and it is true.
But espcecially today I would like to expand upon a bit, and add

I hope this causes you to think about living a life of love, and respect for God, for yourself, and for others!
I hope this causes you to think about the life of the mother and baby in a more loving way.

while-you-were-crying-over-a-dead-ape-125-thousand-babies-were-just-murdered

An important point.

Hope you will read this informative and reasonable  article and that it will help you think and behave in a loving manner.

I 've been thinking myself, a lot about the writing that says, "God so loved the world that He gave is only begotten son....". (Gospel of John chatper 3, verse 16)  Even though it is a very small part of a very large book, it worked like a small key in my mind on issues about God and animals.

If you follow the link and read the article; you find the author quotes a Twitter comment where the person wishes the annihilation of humanity, so the animals could then live peacefully together. This spurred a simple question in my mind; Then who will make peace between the animals?  After all there is plenty of animals that have to eat other animals to survive. And many of those animals when hunting, have no conscious about a 'humane death' to their prey.  Once they have a hold of the prey, the predator starts eating right away;much of the time the prey screaming while it is being eaten alive.

God loving the world, giving his Son, and empowering humanity to over come the evil one, is still the best and only hope for the animal world, human world and ALL the world.

Even so,
Maranatha

Happy New Year!

You know it is written in Scripture:

"Children are a gift from the LORD; they are a reward from him."  Psalm 127:3

So, the  children I have in my family, S.D., R.J.D.1, R.J.D.2, and Sena are all gifts the Lord has brought into my life.

But I too am a gift.  A very profound fact is written;
"Every child has a mother----Every Mother is somebody's child."

This Christmas, from one of those children, I received a lovely gift of a bracelet, simple, elegant, inscribed;
   "live love adopt"!
This from a child, who came from spending her first holiday with her own biological family, this year.

I am feeling profoundly loved and blessed.

Which leads me to a New Years resolution. A prayer I will make continually this year:

That I find find MYSELF the grace to continue choosing Life all year.
That would be equal to choosing Jesus,
who himself said; "...I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life".... John 14:6

and for you, the person facing a "crisis pregnancy";
the crisis of poverty of spirit, crisis of public opinion, crisis of convenience, crisis of conscience...

know that it is also written:
" Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins". 1Peter 4:8

I hope this causes you to think about the life of the mother and baby in a more loving way...since you are or were somebody's baby.

Peace of the Lord be with you

Had this on my mind for awhile now.....

The ongoing question and sub title of this blog is "why we're pro-life"!

All the writings thus far answer that question as will tonights' offering.

"Pro-Life" is enjoyable!! Or said more directly-LIFE is enjoyable!
I started a worm farm in my furnace room. It was so simple and cheap and useful! I have a rather large plastic tote that started the farm with a 5 inch layer of birch leaves raked up in my yard.  On top of that I poured about 2 pints of red wriggler worms I had bought, and added a layer of kitchen scraps like egg shells, coffee grounds, newspaper shredded up a bit, and wilted salad greens.  That was 2 years ago.

I rarely do more than add the kitchen scraps from time to time, and this year, we discovered the 2 pints of worms had multiplied into something like 10 gallons of worms!!

We sifted them out  a bit this spring, separating the worms from the compost, and I made tea for fertilizer in my garden, new worm farms for sale, and fishing worms that work REALLY great even for ice fishing here in Alaska!

They are really quite amazing, that small form of life - the Red Wiggler worm!

They are so small and give so much! Just like a child does!

I hope this causes you to think about the life of the mother and baby in a more loving way.

Why PEIGI is Pro-Life?

In a study I am involved with, a person raised the question of "how can it be good to bring a baby into this sin sick, polluted world, where "life has so many enemies", and how can we be so callous to burden the earth with another person to support?".

The answer came to me when I thought of many times in earth's history, there were less than opportune times to have a baby.  When Moses was born, the family of  Israel saw many of their smallest members slaughtered by the government, in a blatant act of legalized murder!.

Apparently it was still the perfect time for a baby who would first be saved, and then later work as savior to his large family-the Jews!

To a couple well advanced in years, well established in their lifestyle yet to a place of oppression a baby was born. This baby, about 6 months older than his cousin, was subject to the same progrom instituted by the political leaders to "kill all baby boys-2 years old and younger", but also managed to be saved and became the forerunner to the Savour of the World, Jesus of Nazareth.

I discovered that many times, under many dire circumstances, a baby was EXACTLY what God thought was needed. Speaking generally, babies are the embodiment of  "Hope".  Actual number of babies who threaten the life of their own mother while in the womb, are actually very very low, if they indeed  even truthfully exist! That being a debate for another time.

But truthfully, the parents are blessed to have children. Children are a reward. and

"No eye  has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those love him"
1 Corinthians 2:9

The Better-The Best-is yet to come!

Knecht Baby Sweater

Simple sweater for baby Knecht, his mother I've know since she was 7, and is now 31.
Really simple, knitted in one piece starting from the front bottom edge, using Carons "Simply Soft" yarn , in Herring Bone stitch, changing colors every  4 rows.
Knit up to underarms, cast on 2/3 the number of body stitches, work acrost row in pattern, then cast on 2/3 more stitches for second arm again working back acrost row in pattern stitch.
After 6 rows or so, bind off stitches for neck, knit acrost sleeve stitches keeping pattern, on just the one sleeve for about 2 rows, then cast on for back neck edge, and start working again acrost opposite sleeve stitches. Continue working to make back match front, then bind off and sew up seams.
Very easy, interesting and fast!

Pattern can easily be enlarged to make a sweater for mother and baby both.

Last month my youngest daughter went on a vacation to Juneau, Alaska. She told me of her intention to hike a trail she showed me when I visited her there.

The head of this special trail is located at the reatreat and camping center of  The Shrine of St. Therese, located off the Glacier Hiway
Dramatic, beautiful and serene the trail winds steeply around deep forest bounded by the ocean. Situated along the path, it has shrines for the stations of the cross.
And a very special shrine, that I was so honored by my daughter, because she knew it would make me both happy and sad.

It is a memorial dedicated to the victims of abortion.

I can't put into many words the complicated way I feel, but at least I can say I  feel especially loved by her.
Her step dad and I are very  proud  that she herself shares a pro-life position.  And I am certainly glad that Robin's birth mother chose pro-life and adoption over abortion.

I hope this causes you to think about the life of the mother and baby in a more loving way.

My two beautiful daughters, God gave me through acoption. Born and raised in Alaska, today one is a nurse, and the older a director of a program for emergency youth shelter. They are an awesome blessing on so many levels, and obviously so are the women who gave them birth. My thanks to God abounds today, even while I grieve for the 55 million American babies, who were denied their opportunity to live outside the womb. I hope this causes you to think about the life of the mother and baby in a more loving way.

I am presently employed as a school bus driver for the city of Fairbanks. My largest load of the day is about 30 children, I take to and from their elementary school. They are the spunkiest, funniest, brilliantest, liveliest bunch of my day! I am thankful for them. For their parents. For the Creator who gives them breath to laugh, to joke, to sing, to read stories to each other. A line from the movie Juno was "All Babies Want to be Born!". Every one of these kids faces challenges from day to day, but I don't think you would doubt for a minute, that every one of them would raise their hand if you asked them, "who is glad they were born"? Lord, I pray for mercy of ALL of those who think taking the life of a baby is an improvement on life. The blood of the innocent cries against us. Lord give us victory as we not only to overturn Roe v. Wade, but overturn every heart to love and trust you, the giver of life. And thank you again Lord, for the mercy you showed me in my life, with the extraordinary grace of adopting two girls of my own.! Was listening today to a broadcast of Midday Connection. The topic of discussion was 'human trafficking'. I was thinking about a few of the stories I've heard about what happens when a sex slave gets pregnant....hmmmm.....what do you think would happen? What will the owner do with this slave? This brought up to mind, another scenario. Public office holder. Getting a little 'something on the side', FROM 'a little underage something'. What do you suppose happens when a pregnancy occurs as a result of this little romp? For a long time, I thought the audience I wanted to reach most were those teenagers, buying into the lie of fornication, and then getting pregnant. These women (as well as older lie believers) are no less people I hope this blog will connect with, but the picture of those using the abortions industry is getting bigger! Why would a politician, especially a male politician put so much effort in funding Planned Parenthood? Why would abortion-on-demand, and late term abortion, even need to packaged up as anything else but murdering another human? Why would the selling of aborted babies, and/or their parts, even need to be discussed? When I started this blog entry, I had a set of conclusions all set to lay out here today. but now I can see that won't be necessary. Because I CAN SEE several aspects of all these contorted and disgusting issues. I can see: That one of The Almighty's title is, "El Roi" - The God who sees. God sees YOU; you brokenhearted you lonely you young person you old person you disgusting one you despicable one you selfish one Proverbs 15:11 says; "Death and Destruction lie open before the LORD--how much more the hearts of men!" God who sees - SEES YOU, Regardless of your condition, IT IS the same who LOVES YOU! His eyes look with love and compassion, and HOPE. His name is Lord Jesus Christ and He is the one who says, "Come to Me...",and: "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." Below is a website of an organization helping people out of human trafficking. http://www.thea21campaign.org/ So get saved, and I hope this causes you to think about the life of the mother and baby in a more loving way.

Full of life

Full of life

I hope this causes you to think about the life of the mother and baby in a more loving way.
IN THE TITLE OF THIS SITE ... is the question - "Why we're PRO-LIFE?" and today I have yet another reason to post an answer to that question! It is especially relevant considering this is the American "season of Superbowl". The game of football and it's players get some particularly intense attention for several weeks, and I am one of many people in this country who "pay it". Currently there is much focus and broad publicity, on a particular quarterback with the Denver Broncos club, named "Tim Tebow", whose mother, against medical advice, did not abort him. Another young man named Michael Oher currently with the Baltimore Ravens, was featured in the movie "Blind Side", the oldest of 12 children, was adopted by a different family who were very helpful in his progress through school and into the National Football League.
Last weekend (January 15, 2012)on the cover of Parade magazine, possibly "The Best High School Player in Years?" - Dorial Green-Beckham was in the spotlight. This young man came from a troubled home as a teenager, and yet came into a situation, and people who have been able to help him rise above some hard things. I certainly applaud these young men in the choices they have made for themselves, that led them to the sport of football. I am thankful for foster parents and adoptive parents who opened their hearts and homes to children, not of their DNA. I also say again to, and for mothers who don't abort THANKS! Yes I thank you for the sake of the sport of football, but way beyond that, that you are a part of something so much bigger! You are part of a really big redemption story. A story of love. And I never thought about it much before, but you did something that God did with His son: you gave him to someone else to raise! See John 3:16 in the Bible. "For God so loved the world He gave His only BEGOTTEN son, that whosoever would beleive in Him, would not perish but have eternal life". Only Our Redeemer in heaven could "...cause all things to work together for good..." like it says in Romans 8:28. On page 9 in the Parade magazine, the article about Mr.Green-Beckham is titled "The Chance to Be Great". Mothers who participate in giving life to each infant they are pregnant with, is giving another person the "chance to be great". P.S. Jesus, "the Word became flesh" is free to all. If you need a copy of the Bible, send me your name and address, and I will mail you one: PeigiMidey@gmail.com I hope this causes you to think about the life of the mother and baby in a more loving way.

" If one member suffers, everyone suffers with it. If a member is honored, all rejoice with it." 1 Corinthians 12:26 Like many other people last Sunday, September 11, I watched special programs of memorial on t.v. Some that stood out to me, were the children of the victims of the attacks. The particular children of my attention, were the ones who had not yet been born, when their parents were killed. It was not hard to see the connection of the unborn to their parents. The opportunity for them to honor their parents, and those who would dedicate themselves to a greater good in the future. Abortion - the killing of unborn children takes away these opportunities, so evidently illustrated in the words of these children who WERE allowed to be born. The morning of that fateful day, I with my children, were getting ready for school in my safe, warm house in Fairbanks, Alaska. But as I watched the unfolding terror on the t.v. in my bedroom, I began to fear what the repercussions of it might be, even though thousands of miles from the sites of the plane crashes. I wondered if I should keep my children home from school, and if there were more attacks to follow soon. Later I learned that all U.S.A. air space became restricted U.S.A.air space and much of Alaska was put in a bind, as people who depend on air transportation in bush villages, for food and medical transportation, were suddenly cut off. Hunters whose guides had left them out in remote sites, were suddenly abandoned until air travel could be re-secured. The ripple effect of the9/11 tragedies did indeed have a repercussion on us here, so far away. EVERY abortion performed in our country, on EVERY person, has far reaching repercussions. From the unwanted teen pregnancy, to the slaves in sex traffic, and all the politicians and "power players", who think that shedding innocent blood is somehow a good thing- THE TRUTH is, it's only adding sorrow upon sorrow. The guilt, the rejection, the physical pain and financial liabilities you hope to be free from, has now only begun to multiply! The context of the Scripture quoted above, was the apostle Paul addressing Jewish beleivers of Jesus Christ, in the city of Corinth, but it too has far reaching ramifications. Like the law of gravity, the law of "suffering with those who suffer", and "rejoicing with them that rejoice", reaches into the lives of every living person. I hope this causes you to think about the life of the mother and baby in a more loving way. PEIGI AINE A note *The link below is to an article called "Body Language", by Bob Diffinbaugh. It's only likely to be of interest to those who are studying Christianity, so I found it very largely helpful.

Mom socks, baby socks, stuffed knitted heart toy

...a favorite project of mine is to knit momma socks, baby socks and this knitted heart toy...

I made these for my niece Launa and her new family whose picture is on this site...
If you know any pregnant women who need some encouragement, I would be happy to make a pair of, a pair of socks, for them. Communicate with me with a comment here, or find me on Facebook, Peg Midey and send me a message.

I hope this causes you to think about the life of the mother and baby in a more loving way.
