Knittings

Simple sweater for baby Knecht, his mother I've know since she was 7, and is now 31.
Really simple, knitted in one piece starting from the front bottom edge, using Carons "Simply Soft" yarn , in Herring Bone stitch, changing colors every  4 rows.
Knit up to underarms, cast on 2/3 the number of body stitches, work acrost row in pattern, then cast on 2/3 more stitches for second arm again working back acrost row in pattern stitch.
After 6 rows or so, bind off stitches for neck, knit acrost sleeve stitches keeping pattern, on just the one sleeve for about 2 rows, then cast on for back neck edge, and start working again acrost opposite sleeve stitches. Continue working to make back match front, then bind off and sew up seams.
Very easy, interesting and fast!

Pattern can easily be enlarged to make a sweater for mother and baby both.

"I hope this causes you to think about the life of the mother and baby in a more loving way."

This page is for some of my knittings. I know I share an avid interest in this hobby.  It is gift that gives.
I enjoy a great deal of benefits in this exercise of love, and one of my objects are the women who visit the "fyndout clinic" here in town, which is operated by Carenet Pregnancy Center of the Tanana Valley: "http://www.carenetfairbanks.com/".

The hearts are knitted from a pattern called "My Whole Heart" I found on the internet; then I needle felted the words onto them after they were stuffed and sewn closed.

The socks are the tiniest ones I have been able to make. From toe to heel they are about 2 inches long.

I used 2.75 double pointed needles.
Cast on 32 stitches.
Purl 3 rounds.
Knitted about an inch.
Make a short row heel over 16 stitiches.
Kintted foot.
Decreased for toe by knitting 2 sts. together every 4 sts. Then knit a plain row. Then decrease again every 3 stitches, and do another plain row. Another decrease row by knitting together 2 stitches, every second stitch.
Next round knit two stitches together all round. Cut yarn off about 6 inches, and pull through all stitches left on needles. Draw up and sew closed.
