If a member is honored, all rejoice with it." 1 Corinthians 12:26 Like many other people last Sunday, September 11, I watched special programs of memorial on t.v. Some that stood out to me, were the children of the victims of the attacks. The particular children of my attention, were the ones who had not yet been born, when their parents were killed. It was not hard to see the connection of the unborn to their parents. The opportunity for them to honor their parents, and those who would dedicate themselves to a greater good in the future. Abortion - the killing of unborn children takes away these opportunities, so evidently illustrated in the words of these children who WERE allowed to be born. The morning of that fateful day, I with my children, were getting ready for school in my safe, warm house in Fairbanks, Alaska. But as I watched the unfolding terror on the t.v. in my bedroom, I began to fear what the repercussions of it might be, even though thousands of miles from the sites of the plane crashes. I wondered if I should keep my children home from school, and if there were more attacks to follow soon. Later I learned that all U.S.A. air space became restricted U.S.A.air space and much of Alaska was put in a bind, as people who depend on air transportation in bush villages, for food and medical transportation, were suddenly cut off. Hunters whose guides had left them out in remote sites, were suddenly abandoned until air travel could be re-secured. The ripple effect of the9/11 tragedies did indeed have a repercussion on us here, so far away. EVERY abortion performed in our country, on EVERY person, has far reaching repercussions. From the unwanted teen pregnancy, to the slaves in sex traffic, and all the politicians and "power players", who think that shedding innocent blood is somehow a good thing- THE TRUTH is, it's only adding sorrow upon sorrow. The guilt, the rejection, the physical pain and financial liabilities you hope to be free from, has now only begun to multiply! The context of the Scripture quoted above, was the apostle Paul addressing Jewish beleivers of Jesus Christ, in the city of Corinth, but it too has far reaching ramifications. Like the law of gravity, the law of "suffering with those who suffer", and "rejoicing with them that rejoice", reaches into the lives of every living person. This is my beautiful niece Launa Rose. She adopted baby Isabelle whom she holds, while also becoming pregnant herself. She is an Alaskan native, a people who share a community of deep compassion for one another.

Mother Theresa, was a petite figure, a person of small stature, but many knew of her large and powerful influence, her large and powerfull love. While doing some background research for this blog entry, I was newly touched by the profundity of her words, expressing such compassion, wisdom and courage. At a National Prayer Breakfast, standing in front of a large crowd of attendees as well as President Clinton, Vice President Gore and their spouses. At this venue, Mother Theresa did a "small thing, with great love", and delivered the following. I repeat it here with the hope you will find hope and inspiration in her words. MEDIA ADVISORY, March 8, 2011 /Standard Newswire/ -- "Recent abortion center closings have added momentum to the kickoff of the largest 40 Days for Life campaign in history -- which launches tomorrow in 247 cities across the United States and eight other countries," said Shawn Carney, campaign director of 40 Days for Life.

40 Days for Life, a 40-day campaign of prayer and fasting, peaceful vigil and community outreach, launches tomorrow at 247 locations in the United States, Canada, Australia, England, Ireland, Spain, Belize, Armenia and Georgia. This represents a 47% increase in the number of locations over last spring. The campaign will run through April 17.

"We know of nine abortion facilities where 40 Days for Life prayer vigils have been conducted that are now closed," said Carney, "and following other peaceful vigils, more abortion centers may soon be added to that list."

Just last week, Golden Gate Community Health, a collection of abortion facilities in the San Francisco Bay area that was once part of the Planned Parenthood network, announced it was shutting down -- at least temporarily, and possibly forever. That chain includes abortion centers in San Francisco and San Mateo where 40 Days for Life campaigns have been held, as well as three other locations.

In Columbia, Missouri, several peaceful 40 Days for Life vigils have been held outside a Planned Parenthood abortion center. Another prayer campaign is starting this week. Because of staffing issues, this location was unable to offer abortions for several months last year. Abortions resumed on an every-other-week basis in the fall, but now sources in Columbia say no abortions have taken place there since January 26.

"Abortions are only available right now at one place in the entire state of Missouri -- Planned Parenthood in St. Louis, where another 40 Days for Life vigil begins tomorrow," Carney said.

Since 40 Days for Life began as a national -- and then international -- effort in 2007, more than 400,000 people have participated and confirmed reports have documented that 3,599 babies have been saved from abortion. "When people respond to abortion as a local problem," said Carney, "they see the local results of a peaceful vigil: lives saved, hearts changed -- and abortion centers closed."

Facebook Page and the effects of an abortion!

Just found this Facebook page built around this quote from President Ronald Reagan. I think it yet another good page to hold discussion about abortion.

I had recently been thinking about an article I read, supposedly written by a doctor, that "women do not suffer an adverse emotional effects, after having an abortion".

What audacious arrogance! I wonder who paid them to crank out that 'opinion'? A little child can refute that statement! It's the little child, with his hand in a forbidden cookie jar, that experiences an immediate emotion, and some immediate disciplinary action for it.

People who don't experience negative emotions from doing immoral actions, do exist I know, but this group of people are also known as sociopaths and psychopaths. In some circles also known as hardhearted.

How many Nazi Germans, could conduct experiments on human children, tell people walk to the their death into a gas chamber, and do so much with no remorse, or pricking of conscience?

I hate to think about the generation upon generation of people who buy a lie for convenience sake, get themselves convinced of it, then commit a crime. To tell other people, or to tell yourself, 'there are no emotional repercussions to having an abortion', is an all out lie. Lie. Lie. Lie!

It's a fundamental principle of humanity that there are consequences for all actions. Suffering shame, guilt, remorse, regret for having an abortion is the norm! This is from a woman who has been there!

Having suffered for years, along with severe bouts of depression, I sought earnestly an escape, a remedy, a cure for the common emotion.
I didn't realize how the 'cure' was seeking me.

I went for 5 years to a counselor, who in the end decided to retire because, she felt in all that time I had not progressed through any of my problems, she was actually going to leave for India to seek some higher spiritual resources for her practice.

Great.

As with Seattle - the amount of children living in this city and NYC are down in population. Can one really raise a child in either of these cities without working full time and being married. I was listening to Focus on the Family and they were focusing on a lovely lady, Abby, who used to work in an abortion clinic who when assisting in an abortion was so repulsed by the view she saw of the baby being killed left the abortion clinic within approximately two weeks. 

This Abby Johnson, was the Director of the Planned Parenthood clinic in Texas! Her turn of heart was an absolute answer to loving prayer extended toward her and all those working in the clinic she directed.

She also started a lovely relationship with the Christians who were praying outside the clinic who were part of the group 40 Days for Life - they are godly and not loud Christians who mainly pray while outside an abortion clinic. Would love for you to check out their website and to check out Abby Johnson's book "unPlanned" - I think you would learn something more about the Pro-Life movement and what they're trying to do. What I took from the conversation with the head of 40 days was that they're trying to change the HEARTS AND MINDS of the women of America to realize that abortion is not the best decision - that it IS the death of a baby human, but you be the judge.

I don't know how many abortions have occurred in my family - I know of one - but I fear there are more because of the ANGER of some in the family when lightly discussing abortion ... sometimes a strong opinion indicates guilt or justification or fear of others not having that choice.
